Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Kueski is a rapidly growing fintech startup that is focused on providing the best credit solutions and experiences for the underserved populations in emerging Markets.

We are looking for a VP of Finance to lead our FP&A, Treasury, Accounting and Portfolio reporting functions. We are a small finance team that roll-up our sleeves to support one of the fastest growing companies in Fintech in Mexico– and this is a critical role in scaling our business and helping secure future rounds of financing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as business advisor to CEO in matters ranging from Operations to Finance to Product.
Lead strategic finance activities, including those related to technology roadmap and other transformation related initiatives.
Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance, Tax, Accounting, and Financial Planning (modeling and forecasting), and Portfolio accounting for the organization.
Implement operationally efficient systems and processes that control costs and provide up-to-the-minute data for CEO and Leadership Team.
Work with the CEO, Head of Business Development and Head of Product to create and analyze the strategy of partnerships that maximize Kueski’s profitability, considering deeply financial impacts and accurately projecting possible scenarios.
Develop, manage and direct the Company’s short-term, mid-term, and long-term financial plans and performance drivers.
Establish, review and manage the cost structure that optimizes productivity and margins without sacrificing business performance.
Oversee the timely and accurate production of financial information, including budget creation and analysis.
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and GAAP and Mexican FRS account compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.
Liaise with Investors, Board Members and prepare corresponding reporting packages and board decks.
Oversee the implementation of various software/ERP systems.
Collaborate effectively and actively with business unit executives to identify future state needs and streamlining of systems, data reporting and processing.
Prepare and implement in consultation with the CEO, executive team and Human Resources, the strategy of setting corporate and personal goals.
Preparation and implementation in consultation with the CEO, executive team and human resources strategy of setting corporate, area and personal objectives, and stock option compensation planning
Development and management of the incentive strategy through the establishment, evaluation and compliance of OKRs and KPIs.

Requirements:

Leadership & excellent communication (oral, writing, pitching) skills; combined with significant business & personal drive
The ability to think beyond current alliances and proactively suggest others.
Expert Level Excel/Powerpoint Skills
GAAP and Mexican FRS
Numerical and analytical; critical, forward and strategic thinking.
Extraordinary Business English
Understanding of P&L reporting fundamentals, including budgeting/forecasting practices and financial reporting fundamentals
Confidence-inspiring manner and a history of evangelizing products and companies with investors
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master degree a plus.
CPA preferred
Mexican accounting law and regulation
Experience:

Minimum 10+ years of experience in FP&A and Accounting
Experience in lending, preferred online lending
Experience implementing large scale ERP systems
Experience raising equity/debt capital for growth scale companies
Experience managing equity/debt investor reporting and relations
Plus:

Experience scaling startups
Experience in Mexican market
MBA or other relevant advanced degree
